STILES: The rot starts at the top

QUEEN'S PARK –– Official Opposition Leader Marit Stiles is calling out Doug Ford's doublespeak on his MPPs' party with taxpayer dollars, after Global News reporting revealed that the Conservative caucus had the Premier's blessing to bill the taxpayer for luxury Toronto hotel stays:

"Doug Ford can't keep his story straight,” said Stiles. “How can the Premier tell the people of Ontario that this was 'unacceptable' when he's the one setting the standard?

“The rot starts at the top. Doug Ford tried to buy himself a luxury private jet on the taxpayer's dime, and then had his MPPs bill them to live the 'suite life' downtown instead of commuting home. He has created the culture of entitlement that’s costing Ontarians hundreds of thousands of dollars.

"The same people who are struggling to afford groceries for their families are the ones subsidizing this government's rockstar lifestyles. Doug Ford's tough talk in front of the cameras is too little, too late. His apologies won’t make these expenses disappear. Ford’s MPPs need to pay back every single penny.”
